Started life as a Roman Villa on the Via Aquitania between Narbonne and Toulouse. In the Middle Age became a monastery. Ten centuries after, and during the reign of Henri IV, a president of parliament of Toulouse made his country retreat. The contemporary writer Gaston Bonheur lived there.
